Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Telematics Platform Expertise
Act as the technical authority for vehicle telematics systems, including TCU (Telematics Control Unit), network architecture, SIM/eSIM, GNSS, and connectivity layers (2G/3G/4G/5G).
Provide subject-matter guidance on telematics communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, CoAP, TCP/IP, SMS fallback, etc.).
Support development and configuration of telematics back end, cloud services, and OTA (Over the Air) update mechanisms.
2. Connected Vehicle Features
Define, validate, and support features such as:
- eCall/bCall breakdown call
- Remote door lock/unlock
- Vehicle tracking & geofencing
- DTC monitoring & remote diagnostics
- Telemetry data acquisition & analytics
- App to car communication
3. System Integration & Architecture
Review and provide inputs on end to end system architecture (TCU → Cloud → Mobile App).
Coordinate with hardware, firmware, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration.
Lead root-cause analysis for telematics issues across network, software, backend, and app layers.
4. Validation & Testing
Support creation of telematics test plans for bench, vehicle, and field testing.
Perform TCU configuration checks, backend log analysis, and network-level diagnostics.
Validate KPIs like signal strength, data latency, event triggering, and system reliability.
5. Technical Documentation & Compliance
Develop detailed technical documentation, feature specifications, and integration guidelines.
Ensure regulatory compliance (data privacy, eCall mandates, etc.).
Support homologation and certification activities for telematics devices.
6. Cross Functional Collaboration
Work with product owners, cybersecurity teams, service engineering, and customer support teams.
Provide training and technical support to internal teams and external partners/vendors.
Participate in vendor evaluation, technical negotiations, and solution assessments.
7. Proposal making, RFQ preparation and co-ordination with multiple stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of automotive telematics systems and connected car architectures
• Expertise with TCU hardware, modem technologies, GNSS, CAN/LIN, SOMEIP, Ethernet, and diagnostics (UDS, OBD-II)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and telematics backend services
• Experience with packet analysis tools (Wireshark, QXDM, logs decoding)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts in connected vehicles
• Understanding of OTA updates, FOTA/SOTA mechanisms
• Knowledge of telematics regulations: eCall, data privacy standards

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
• Certifications in IoT, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Connected Vehicle Technologies
• Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or telematics service providers
• Prior involvement in launching connected vehicles in market
• Good understanding in AI and Connectivity Market.
